In this example, two pawls are used allowing the yellow wheel to turn almost continually. In the above example the yellow wheel turns two teeth for every turn of the red wheel. By reducing the diameter of the red wheel it is possible to make the yellow wheel turn only one tooth per turn, each pawl turning the wheel half a tooth.
